Here we go on Chapter 3: Cars, Planes, and Resorts
In this chapter, Biddle writes that tourists largely followed colonial lines. French tourists went to French colonies or former colonies. Spanish to Spanish, American to American and English-speaking locals. The Caribbean in particular became a hotspot for these tourists, who were largely white. The people building the resorts, funding the projects, and owning the cars, boats, planes, and resorts were largely white.
