Speaking of your family, I am immensely grateful to your nephew for his skilled and patient chess instruction at our school! I got an incredible amount of very positive and grateful feedback on this from students and parents. Also, I love the great courage of the Iraqi cyclist. I've got the podcast episode and YouTube video queued up - so excited to listen to/watch them both :) My good thing for today is seeing up close and personal here on holiday in Turkey the many people feeding street cats and so clearly delighting in tending to them. I had learned about this part of life in Turkey through watching the excellent documentary Kedi (https://www.kedifilm.com/), but as with most things in life, nothing beats witnessing it in person :)

My good thing is that I get to take my nephew out for ice cream for his 5th birthday! I've lived overseas for most of his life, so it is extra special to get to celebrate in person with him today. I also realized that as a middle child with a missionary aunt, this will be the first time we are together just the two of us. Sometimes I struggle with being back in the U.S., but in moments like these, I am thankful!
